Wireless
The Wireless setting must match the other Wireless stations.
Basic
To set the basic configuration for the wireless features, please open Basic item from the Wireless
menu.
Enable Wireless Network:
Click this check box to enable the wireless
network function.
Hide Wireless Network:
Checking this box can hide the SSID of this
access point. Then other people in the
network cannot find the SSID of this device.
Wireless Network Name (SSID):
The system will detect the SSID of your
router and displayed in this field for your
reference.
The SSI D is the ident ificat ion
characters of a rout er. The default
words will be shown on t his page. I f
you do not check t he Hide Access Point
it em , t he rout er will periodically
broadcasts it s SSI D to allow t he
wireless client s wit hin t he range t o
recognize it s presence. This can create
a securit y hole since any wireless
client s which got the broadcast m ight
associate t o your system .
Please be not ed t hat if you want t o
com m unicat e, all wireless client s
should use t he sam e SSI D wit h t he
rout er or access point .
Channel:
The frequency in which the radio links are
about to be established. Select one channel
that you want from the drop down list.
As an administrator of network, he/she must
search which channels are available and then
assign one available channel as the
communication channel. All the other clients
that want to transmission through this device
should choose the same channel that you set
in this field.
Transmission Mode:
It decides the mode of data transmission.
Choose the one that you want to use from the
drop-down menu. There are 802.11b only,
802.11g only and Mixed Mode provided
here.
