TROUBLE SHOOTING YOUR HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES REMEDY
Excessive heating Relief valve set incorrectly Readjust valve to system
because of component specifications pressure;
conditions usually 100 -150 psi above
compensator setting
Internal oil leakage (pump) Repair or replace pump
Viscosity of oil too high Check recommendations to
start-up information
Leaking valves Repair or replace
Improper functioning of oil Inspect cooler and see that it
cooler (if installed) is working properly
Restricted lines If lines are crimped, replace; if
partially plugged for any
reason, remove obstruction
Scored or damaged rotor. Check case drain line for
valve plate, pistons and piston excessive drain flow; if
bores, or other internal moving possible filter drain flow and
parts check for metal (brass or
steel) filings or particles;
replace damaged parts
