Note: The authentication code always has to be entered when registering a
handset in a Alcatel system.
“Searching” is displayed and when the handset has found the new system
“Registering” is displayed.
7.2 Adjustment of Audio Parameters
The handset is delivered with a set of audio parameters with standard settings for best
audio quality. In some environments, for example one with a high noise level, these
standard values might have to be adjusted to get good audio quality. There are different
SIM card parameters for audio parameters for normal conversation and when
loudspeaking function or headset is used.
In order to achieve optimal audio quality with the different headset types it is
recommended that the SIM parameter called “Headset type” is altered to match the
headset type being used. The default setting for this parameter is microphone on a boom
i.e. the audio is optimized for using a headset with microphone on a boom.
7.3 DECT Location Feature
The 9d24 MkII Protector can be equipped with the DECT Location feature that gives
location information when an alarm is sent. A setting in the SIM card activates location.
There is also a separate parameter that activates “Special location”, i.e. an alarm is sent
every time the handset gets a location from a Location Device with “Immediate Alarm
Transmission” enabled.
7.3.1 Location Test
When a DECT Location system is installed, a handset with this feature has to be used for
location test.
To activate the location test mode, select the Settings tab and press Navigation key (down)
to enter settings, step to “System” and press Navigation key (right). Select “Location test”
and press Navigation key (right). Press “Ok” to activate the location test. To deactivate the
location test, press “Ok” again.
