6.11.1 Incoming call
This paragraph describes the sequence in which procedures are executed to support an incoming
call (see figure
39). The feature is implemented by mandatory procedures for the Portable radio
Termination (PT) and the Fixed radio Termination (FT) as shown in table 5. An incoming call is initiated
at the fixed part.
Incoming call request
Incoming call request procedure consists of the ‘Call Control setup’ message. This message contains
the following information elements:
• Portable identity: a portable is uniquely defined, by its IPUI, within the area where it has access
rights
• Fixed identity: defines the access rights of a portable to a DECT system
• Basic service: defines the type of call, e.g. normal call setup, emergency call, etc.
• Signal: identifies type of signal, e.g. dial tone on, busy tone on, etc.
Incoming call confirmation
Incoming call confirmation consists of the ‘Call control alerting’ message. It is used to indicate that an
initiation of an alerting has been reported to the fixed part. No information elements are sent (all are
optional).
PT alerting
PT alerting contains as information element ‘signal’. This information element can be sent in this
procedure or in the ‘Call control setup’ message.
Incoming call connection
Incoming call confirmation consists of the following messages:
• Call control connect
• Call control connect acknowledge. After the portable part has received this message the speech
path between portable part and fixed part is open.
No information element is sent (all are optional).
