The purpose of the ‘fixed identity information’ element is to transport a DECT fixed identity or a Portable
Access Rights Key (PARK). Fixed part identities are used to inform portable parts about the identity
of a DECT network and the access rights of the portable part to that DECT network and thereby
reduce the number of access attempts from unauthorised portable parts. A fixed part can be identified
by the following codes:
Access Rights Identity (ARI)
Radio Fixed Part Identity (RFPI)
Portable Access Rights Key (PARK)

The purpose of the ‘Basic service’ information element is to indicate the basic aspects of the requested
service. Some basic services are:
Normal call set-up
Internal call set-up (typically used in residential environments)
Emergency call set-up
External handover call set-up
Service call set-up
The purpose of the ‘Signal’ information element is to transmit the following information to the portable
part:
Dial tone on
Ring-back tone on
Busy tone on
Call waiting tone on

6.6.2 Mandatory and optional network features
Table 4 defines the Mandatory (M) and Optional (O) features of the network layer in the Portable radio
Termination (PT) and the Fixed radio Termination (FT). For the fixed part a distinction is made between
Residential and Business (R/B) applications, and Public (P) applications. The features are described
in paragraph
6.6.3.
