Chapter 2 Upgrade from DCT1800-GAP R1A to R1B –
January 1999
2.1 General
The release of DCT1800-GAP R1B improves the customer satisfaction of the cordless system as a
number of problems have been solved and items have been added or changed in the cordless system
manager software. The upgrade from a DCT1800-GAP R1A system to a DCT1800-GAP R1B system
only involves firmware of two system boards, the cordless system manager software and the cordless
system statistics software.
This chapter describes the products involved by the release, the problems that were solved and how
to upgrade a DCT1800-GAP R1A system to a DCT1800-GAP R1B system.
2.2 Problems solved
The products in table 3 have been changed to solve problems that were detectable by the user of the
DCT1800-GAP system. This table also gives an overview of all items required for upgrading. To
upgrade a system, it has to be taken out of service.
Note:
The above mentioned firmware product names and numbers refer to the orderable products (e.g. box
containing the PROMs). The PROMs may have slightly different numbers.
2.2.1 DTU CAS+ firmware set (RYT/ROFNB 157 03/5 R1C)
The following problems are solved:
Unstable link to MD110
During power-up of the MD110 the link to the DTC is unstable, resulting in a malfunctioning DTC (BC
= MFG). As a result users who are subscribed to the malfunctioning DTC can not make phone calls.
After executing the upgrade instructions the problem is solved.
DTC layer two error handling
Solved errors in the DTC were not correctly handled by the software. As a result the status of layer
two (L2) of the DTC in question remained marked as malfunctioning (L2=MFG). After executing the
upgrade instructions the problem is solved.
