24.4 Installation using DTU/Ascotel-PRA cable set – REX-CAB9019
The modular cabinet is provided with a ground strip to connect the DTU twisted pair cables and the
CLU, CLU-S and SLU cables to ground (see figure
97).These ground connections are necessary for
EMI suppression reasons.
Note:
The orientation of the shielding clamps shall be according to figure 97. If the clamp is positioned at
the wrong side, remove the clamp and fit it such that it is positioned correctly.

1. Ensure that the jumpers on the DTU board have been set in the twisted pair position (see chapter
14).
2. Connect the plugs of DTU twisted pair cables REX-CAB9019 to the lower part of the connectors
of the left most DTU as shown in figure
98.
3. Screw the shielding clamps of REX-CAB9019 to the leftmost free position on the ground strip
using two M3 x 10 torx 10 screws delivered with the modular cabinet.
4. Connect the other end of the cables to the Ascotel either directly or via a Main Distribution Frame
(MDF). If connected directly, ensure that the cable clamps at the PBX side are attached to a
ground strip. If connected to an MDF, the connectors must be cut off.
