Base station power supplied to a maximum of 7 CLUs/CLU-Ss/SLUs via a separate 48 V power
supply
In this configuration the MCCB has to be connected to a 48 V (PBX) power supply. There is no cable
delivered with the modular cabinet to connect this power supply. The cable can easily be made by
yourself.
Figure 72 gives a schematic diagram of this configuration. Figure 73 gives the cable diagram of this
configuration.
Fig. 72 Schematic diagram of powering the modular cabinet by a transformer and
7 CLUs/CLU-Ss/SLUs by a 48 Vdc supply
1. Connect the power cable (TRENB 101 01) in the modular cabinet to the power transformer.
2. Remove cable TRENB 101 03 from connectors X112/X113 of the backplane and the PW-BP input
of the MCCB.
3. Make a cable like TRENB 101 01 by crimping two faston connectors at one end of a 2.5 mm

wire cable with a length of about 2.5 m.
4. Connect this cable to the PW-EXT connector on the MCCB. See figure 73 for the polarity.
5. Connect the power supply at the other end of the cable.
6. Connect the positive pole of the power supply to the ground of the modular cabinet by repositioning
the ground bridge, when local regulations require this.
Note:
There are two sets of PW1, PW2 and PW3 terminals; one for backplane powering and one for external
powering.
WARNING
When using the PBX power supply, make sure that the capacity of the
supply is sufficient to power both the PBX and the modular cabinet.
