18.1 About this document
This document describes the installation of the BS370 Wireless Relay Station revision R2.
18.2 General product description
18.2.1 Base station without cable connection to system
The BS370 Wireless Relay Station (WRS) is a base station without cable connection to the system.
The BS370 is connected to a host base station (BS330, BS340) through a radio link.
The BS370 provides coverage where cabling is difficult or impossible, e.g. in parking areas. The radio
coverage of the BS370 is comparable to the radio coverage of the BS340.
The BS370 can be used with DCT1800-GAP, DCT1800-S, BusinessPhone (with integrated DECT),
and MD110(with integrated DECT).
18.2.2 Connection to host base station
The radio connection of the BS370 with the host base station can be realised in two ways:
By the antennas used to communicate with the cordless phones, without extra antenna
Optionally, by an extra antenna
Both possibilities are described below.
Connection to host base station without extra antenna
The BS370can connect with the host base station by the same antennas used to communicate with
the cordless phones.
The BS370 has two standard omni-directional external antennas, like the BS340. The special omni-
directional antennas and directional external antennas for the BS340 can be used on the BS370 as
well.
In a building the maximum distance between BS370 and host base station will be approximately 30 m.
In the open field the maximum distance can be much more, up to 300
m. The maximum distance
between BS370 and host base station depends on the precise situation.
