Chapter 9 Cell Link Unit (CLU) – REX-BRD0014
(ROFNB 157 11/2)
9.1 General
The CLU is used to control base stations via twisted pair cables with a maximum length of 3.5 km.
The CLU REX-BRD0014 (ROFNB 157 11/2), supports a robust data link protocol between the CLU
and the base stations.
Power distribution to the base stations is protected by two 1 AT fuses for each base station.
Maintenance
The CLU contains the following field-exchangeable parts (see figure 25):
• CLU DCT1800 board controller firmware
• Two 1 AT fuses for each base station (see figure 26). The fuses can be ordered individually
REX-SPP0028 (NGHNB 101 106/T1) of 1 fuse.

Connectors
The CLU-S has the following connectors at the front:
• 8 connectors (CLC1 - CLC8) by which the Cell Link Circuits (CLCs) are connected to the base
stations
• 1 connector (base station power) to connect a power supply voltage from the connection board
for powering the base stations when no AC-adapters are used. The power connector does not
have a polarity. It makes no difference which pin becomes plus or minus.
