4.7 Mounting the modular cabinets to the wall
1. Hang-up the modular cabinet(s) using the mounting bracket(s). In a multi cabinet configuration,
the cabinets must be placed against each other, such that the shielding gasket contacts always
have good contact with each other.
2. Secure the cabinet(s) to the wall by inserting and fastening the screws at the bottom of the cabinet.
4.8 Interconnecting modular cabinets
After the modular cabinets are mounted to the wall, the backplanes of the cabinets have to be
interconnected using flat cables. Furthermore the ground of the cabinets has to be interconnected
using the protective ground cables. Both cables are part of the interconnection set.
The system bus on the backplane is terminated on both sides with R-networks in a SIL socket. When
modular cabinets are cascaded R-networks must only be present at both ends of the extended bus
(see figure
9).
Procedure
1. If system boards are already installed, temporary remove one or more boards to make the R-
networks accessible.
2. Remove all R-networks from the backplanes with exception of:
– R201, R202 and R207 of the rightmost cabinet
– R401, R402 and R407 of the leftmost cabinet
See figure 9. See figure 10 for the exact place of the R-networks.
3. Interconnect the backplanes of the cabinets using flat cables.
