12. Connect a power source to the modular cabinet, See chapter 20. See also chapter 5 (Power
transformer) and chapter 6 (Battery power unit)
13. Mount the base stations and measure the base station cable delays, See chapter 16 or 17
depending on version
14. Switch on the DCT1800-GAP system, See paragraph 3.6
15. Initialize the DCT1800-GAP system with the application Cordless System Manager (CSM) for
Windows. For more information about CSM for Windows, See its on-line help.
Note: When the base stations connected to the first CLU board have been initialized, the second CLU
board can be inserted and base stations initialized, etc.
16. Place the securing bar, See paragraph 4.11
17. Stick the cabinet number labels, board name labels and cable position labels, See paragraph 3.7.2
18. Commissioning, See section ‘Commissioning’
When installing directly to the wall
1. Unpack the system (except system boards), See paragraph 3.4
2. Charge cordless phone batteries, See paragraph 3.5
3. Pre-mount the modular cabinet(s), See paragraph 4.5 or 4.6
4. Stick the board position labels, See paragraph 3.7.1
5. Mount the modular cabinet(s), See paragraph 4.7
6. If applicable interconnect modular cabinets, See paragraph 4.8
7. Connect protective earth to the cabinet, See paragraph 4.9
8. Install the power cabling of the cabinet, See chapter 20. See also chapter 5 (Power transformer)
and chapter 6 (Battery power unit)
9. Install the system boards, See chapters 7 to 15.
Note: Since the base stations must be initialized connected to one CLU board at the time, it is
recommended to start with inserting only one CLU board at the first installation. Refer to the note at
step
14.
10. Install the cabling, See chapters 21 to 24
