CLUs, CLU-Ss and SLUs
CLUs, CLU-Ss and SLUs are placed on the right hand side of the cabinet. At this position CLU/MDF
cables do not influence the accessibility of the MCCB.
Note:
When more CLUs, CLU-Ss or SLUs are to be installed, you may alternate CLUs, CLU-Ss or SLUs
with SPU-Ss. This creates more space between the CLUs/CLU-Ss/SLUs thus providing easier access
to the CLU cables.
LTUs
LTUs are placed on the right hand side of the cabinet next to the CLUs or CLU-Ss (if present in this
cabinet). At this position LTU/MDF cables do not influence the accessibility of the MCCB. If 2 or more
modular cabinets are used, distribute the LTUs.
Note:
ROFNB 157 25/1 and REX-BRD0019 (ROFNB 157 25/2) can not be used together in one system.
SPU-Ss
SPU-Ss are placed in the middle of the cabinet.
DTUs
DTUs are placed on the left hand side of the cabinet. In this position the cables can be easily connected
to the MCCB.
3.3 Main steps of installation
When pre-installing cabling and boards on a workbench at the installation site
When installing in this way, create an ESD safe working place as described in the chapter ‘Protection
against electronic discharge (ESD)’ of the ‘Safety and regulatory information’ section in this book.
1. Unpack the system (except system boards), See paragraph 3.4
2. Charge cordless phone batteries, See paragraph 3.5
3. Pre-mount the modular cabinet(s), See paragraph 4.5 or 4.6
4. Stick the board position labels, See paragraph 3.7.1
5. Install the power cabling of the cabinet, See chapter 20. See also chapter 5 (Power transformer)
and chapter 6 (Battery power unit)
6. Install the board cabling to the cabinet, See chapters 21 to 24
7. Mount the modular cabinet(s), See paragraph 4.7
8. If applicable interconnect the modular cabinets, See paragraph 4.8
9. Install the system boards, See chapters 8 to 15.
Note: Since the base stations must be initialized connected to one CLU board at the time, it is
recommended to start with inserting only one CLU board at the first installation. Refer to the note at
step
15.
10. Connect cabling to all boards, See chapters 21 to 24
11. Connect protective earth to the cabinet, See paragraph 4.9
