Chapter 1 Introduction
This section describes how to install the DCT1800-GAP system. It comprises information about
required tools, firmware, recommended board positions, cabling, system cabinets, base stations and
field-replaceable units such as power supplies and system boards.
This section is set-up in a modular way. Each system board and connection board is described in a
separate chapter. The cabling for the cabinet is described in a separate chapter. Furthermore, the
cabinets, power supplies and base station are described in separate chapters.
Chapter 1 : Introduction
Gives you an overview of the subjects described in each chapter.
Chapter 2 : General
Informs you about environmental conditions, ESD handling, tools and other items
you need.
Chapter 3 : Installation steps
Gives all installation steps for the modular cabinet in sequence. For more detailed
information references are given to other chapters or other sections of the manual.
Chapter 4 : Modular cabinet
Describes the mounting of the modular cabinet.
Chapter 5 : Power transformer
Describes the installation of the power transformer for the modular cabinet.
Chapter 6 : Battery power unit.
Describes the installation of the battery power unit for the modular cabinet.
Chapter 7– 15 : System boards
Describes the most important aspects of the CPU, CLU, CLU-S, SPU-S, SLU,
DTU-E1, LTU boards for installation personnel.
Chapter 16 - 18 : Base stations
Describes the most important aspects (e.g. power distribution, base station
cabling, cable delay measurement) of the base station for installation personnel.
Chapter 19 : Modular cabinet connection board
Describes the board
Chapter 20 – 24 : Modular cabinet cabling
Describes the installation of all the interconnecting cables.
Chapter 25 : Modular cabinet cables
Describes all the cables for the modular cabinet.
