n Preemptive: In this mode, if the primary comes up when the backup is active, the backup tunnel is deleted and
the primary tunnel resumes as an active tunnel. If you configure the tunnel to be preemptive, and when the
primary tunnel goes down, it starts the persistence timer which tries to bring up the primary tunnel.
n Non-Preemptive: In this mode, when the back tunnel is established after the primary tunnel goes down, it
does not make the primary tunnel active again.
l L2TPV3 configuration is supported on the following IAPs:
n RAP-108
n RAP-109
n IAP-135
You can configure an L2TPv3 tunnel and session profiles through the Instant UI or CLI.
In the Instant UI
1. Click the More > VPN link at the top right corner of the Instant UI. The Tunneling window is displayed.

2. Select L2TPv3 from the Protocol drop-down list.
3. Configure the tunnel profile:
a. Enter the tunnel name to be used for tunnel creation.
