3.7.2. Running a Watched Folder
To run a watched folder:
1. Open Adobe Acrobat.
2. From the menu bar, go to ‘Plug-ins> ARTS PDF Aerialist Professional >
Productivity > Batch Processing > Watched Folders’ to open the Watched
Folders dialog.
3. If there is no watched folder listed then create one (see the section ‘Creating
a Watched Folder’ on how to create a watched folder).
4. Ensure the watched folder is enabled before starting it. Only enabled
watched folders will be scanned for documents.
The icon beside each item indicates the state of the watched folder:
indicates the watched folder is enabled.
indicates the watched folder is disabled.
Disable a watched folder if you do not want to process files found within its
input folder. To do this, select the watched folder item in the list box and click
on the “Disable” button.
5. Click on “Start” to begin all enabled watched folders. Any files found within an
input folder will be processed.
6. Drag-and-drop additional files within the input folder for processing.
7. Click on “Stop”, if you wish to stop all watched folders.
3.7.3. Log File
A watched folder log file records the success or failure of each job performed. The log
file includes details of the sequence and the result of opening the file, executing the
sequence on the file, saving the file and closing the file.
Each watched folder has its own log file. Logging is an option that can be enabled by
editing the watched folder and selecting ‘Logging enabled’. You can view the log file by
selecting the watched folder in the list and clicking on “View Log”.
Note: You can only view a log file after you processing files. The log file can be found in the
output folder.
