o All pages - inserts new layers on each page of the active document i.e.
each page will have the same layer.
o Odd pages - inserts new layers on every even page of the active
document.
o Even pages - inserts new layers on every odd page of the active
document.
o First page - inserts new layers on the first page of the active document.
o Last page - inserts new layers on the last page of the active document.
o Page range - inserts new layers on the specified pages of the active
document.
o New page – inserts new layers on a new page. The new page is placed
after the last page of the active document.
o New document - inserts new layers in a new document.
5. Click OK to create the layers.
• The layer name
Layers are named according to the page it was created from i.e. if the layer was
created from page 1 it will be named ‘Page 1’. However, if the ‘Use page label for
layer name’ preference is selected, the layer name will take on the label name
displayed in Acrobat’s status bar.
• The objects
The content of a page can be made up of multiple objects. When adding a page to a
layer you can group theses objects together. This means all the objects from a page
will become a single layer object. The ‘Group objects in page layer’ preference will
group the objects of a page into one layer object.
