9.2. Using Layers
Layers add another dimension to Adobe Acrobat and PDF pages – layers. The Layers
feature lets you control the creation and management of layers and their content. This
feature is great for creating and maintaining different versions of the same document,
multi-lingual work, localized price and product changes, ad insertion instructions, and
other alternate content.
Create & name layers in PDF pages
Show & hide layers
Add objects to layer(s)
Remove objects from layer(s)
Merge, delete or rename layers
Convert pages to layers
Add a page as a layer
Print exposed layers only
Set the zoom level for layer visibility
Save – saves all layers, displays exposed layers
Works with any Acrobat PDF page
9.2.1. Starting Layers
To begin using Layers:
1. Start Adobe Acrobat.
2. Choose File > Open.
3. Browse to the PDF document you want to open and click Open.
4. Opening a PDF document will enable the ARTS PDF Aerialist Professional toolbar
and menu-items.
5. Click on the Layers toolbar button or menu-item to open the Layers dialog.
