Chapter 1: Battery Disposal Guidelines Battery Disposal Guidelines To ensure compliance with current and future rechargeable battery take-back laws, ARRIS has joined Call2Recycle, a collection program for rechargeable batteries throughout North America. Chapter 2 Product Overview The XBB1-A Battery Backup Device is a backup battery unit that is capable of providing secondary DC voltage to a TG3482 Telephony Gateway through the use of an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The battery can provide at least eight hours of on-hook backup time to the TG3482. The XBB1-A charges its internal battery by using DC power from the connected TG3482.
Chapter 3 Installing the XBB1-A Battery Backup Device Your TG3482 Telephony Gateway may be shipped with a standard power cable, or it may be shipped with a XBB1-A Battery Backup Device. If Your TG3482 Was Shipped With a Standard Power Cable If your TG3482 Telephony Gateway was shipped with a standard power cable, follow these steps to install the XBB1-A Battery Backup Device: 1. Disconnect the standard power cable from the power cord connector on the back of the TG3482. Release 2.5 DRAFT 1.
Chapter 3: Installing the XBB1-A Battery Backup Device 2. Insert the custom end of the standard power cable into the appropriate connector on the XBB1-A's internal battery. The custom end of the cable looks like the following photo and is designed to fit either into either the power cord connector on the back of the TG3482 or into the XBB1-A's internal battery. 3. Insert the custom end of the XBB1-A into the power cord connector on the back of the TG3482. 4.
Chapter 3: Installing the XBB1-A Battery Backup Device 1. Insert the custom end of the XBB1-A into the power cord connector on the back of the TG3482. The custom end of the XBB1-A Battery Backup Device looks like the following photo and is designed to fit into the power cord connector on the back of the TG3482. 2. Insert the polarized AC plug into a standard power outlet. 3. Double-check that the AC power cord is securely connected to the body of the battery unit.
