Bypass Accessories
The manual bypass is a maintenance bypass to allow a UPS to be powered
down and removed for service without disruption to the connected load(s).
The manual bypass has both manual and automatic transfer functions. If the
UPS is accidentally disconnected or fails any load(s) connected to it are auto-
matically transferred to the mains supply. The manual bypass is available in
wall mounted or 19” rack mount formats.

External Manual Bypass 16A – Manual Bypass
Available only in one version which allows manual bypass operations on
any 10 to 20kVA single phase UPS and 10 to 40kVA three phase UPS.
The device comes with three circuit breakers as shown in the attached dia-
gram, so as to ensure complete isolation of the UPS during maintenance
or removal operations, whilst guaranteeing continuous power supply to the
loads. The device has a microswitch for connection to the appropriate UPS
input, which signals closure of the manual bypass, in order to prevent
energy being supplied simultaneously from the manual bypass and the
inverter.
