When cooking brown rice, add an ADDITIONAL 1/4 cup of water for every cup of uncooked rice. For example, when cooking 1 cup of brown rice, the amount of water added to the inner pot should be 1-3/4 cups. Allow the rice to soak for 1-1/2 hours before beginning to cook.
