LOCATION
Thedesignis certifiedfor through-the-wallinstallationonly. Theinteriorportionsofthe unit may besurroundedbya
closetwith clearancestocombustiblematerial heldto 0" at sides, 0" top and O" frontof the plenum.
Thegrille sideof the unitmay be flush with orextendbeyondthefaceof theexteriorwall, butshouldnotberecessed
morethan two(2) inchesfrom the face of thebuildingand shouldnotbe obstructedwithtrees, landscapematerials,
or buildingstructure.
Thereis nominimumclearancerequiredonlocatinga unittoaninteriorcornerofa building. If theunitis to beenclos-
ed, provisionsshouldbemadeallowingaccesstothe indoorsideof the unitfor changingfilters.and forinspection.At
least33" of unobstructedspaceshouldbe providedin front of the indoorside. whetherenclosedor noL to permit
removalof the coolingchassisshouldrepairsor inspectionbe required.
If this unit is installedin a residentialgarageit must be locatedor protectedto avoidph_,sicaldamagebyvehicles.
Thisunit must be installedso that no electricalcomponentsare exposedto water.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION:THESLEEVEISNOTINTENDEDASTHESOLESUPPORTFORTHEUNIT. ANADDITIONALSUPPORTMUST
BE PROVIDEDNEARTHE RETURNOPENINGON THE UNIT FOR ADEQUATESUPPORT.THE USEOF VIBRATION
ISOLATIONMATERIALBETWEENTHE UNIT AND THE SUPPORTIS RECOMMENDED,
CAUTION:THIS UNITMUST BEINSTALLEDLEVELFORPROPERDRAINAGEOFTHE CHASSISBASEPANAND UNIT
DRAINPAN.
WITHOUTWALLSLEEVE
Measurethesizeoftheunit andprovidean openingin anoutsidewall that will acceptthe unit. Localordinancesmay
require a steel lintel to supportthe wall abovethe opening.This openingmust besquare in all corners.
Positionthe unit sothat the grilleson the outsidefaceof the unitareflush or extendbeyondthe faceof the exterior
wall,but notrecessedmorethantwo (2) inchesfromthe faceof thebuilding.PROVIOEA SUPPORTUNDERTHE UNIT
INSIDETHE BUILDING.Makesure thatthe insidesupportdoesnot blockthe returnair. The unitshouldbeinstalled
level.
Sealthe spacebetweentheunit and the buildingopeningusinga non-hardeningcaulkingcompound.Thesealmust
beweather-tighttoprevententranceof moistureandwater intothe building.Makesure the drainholesin the base
are notpluggedwith caulking.
WITH WALL SLEEVE
Seethe installationinstructionspacked with Ihe wall sleeveto assembleand mountin a wall. Make sure that the
gasketsattachedtothe sleeveare notdamaged.Assurethatthe unitis completelyseatedagainstthegasketsonthe
wall sleeve.
Sealspacebetweenwall sleeveand buildingopeningusingnon-hardeningcaulkingcompound.Thisseal must be
watertight.
CONDENSATEDRAIN
Install theplasticdraintube(furnished)overthe 5/8" O.O. fittingwelded tothecondensatepan. Connectotherend
ofthe draintubeto trappeddrain line (See Figure2). Theplasticdrain connectionto thechassisbaseisprovidedso
thatit may be disconnectedfromthe permanentdrain tubingin the baseof unitin theeventit becomesnecessaryto
removethe chassisassembly.

The drain line should pitch gradualtydownwardat least 1" per 10 footof horizontalrun to theopen drain.
Be certainthat the plasticdrain tubinghastree drainageand is notcrimpedor flattenedat anybend.
