INSTALLATION OF WELDED FRAMES
EXISTING MASONRY WALLS
When an opening exists in a wall prior to the frame installation, clearance between existing wall
and frame is critical. Size the frame accordingly to allow for ΒΌ in. clearance between the
returns of the frame and the rough opening. Take into consideration the minimum dimensions
and the plumbness and levelness of the entire opening, including the floor.
Installation:
Place the frame in the completed wall
opening, Figure 18A. Check for squareness.
Mark the wall through the anchor holes
provided in the jambs. Drill appropriate holes at
the marks.
Install frame:
Insert mechanical fasteners through frame
soffit into existing wall, Figure 18B.
