5. Firefighting Measures
Suitable (and Unsuitable) Extinguishing Media: Use any media that is suitable for the surrounding fire. Cool fire
exposed containers with water.
Specific Hazards Arising From the Chemical: Closed containers may rupture if exposed to extreme heat. Burning
may release oxides of carbon.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Firefighters should wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus
and full protective clothing for fires in areas where chemicals are used or stored.
6: Accidental Release Measures
Personal Precautions, Protective Equipment, and Emergency Procedures: Wear appropriate protective
clothing and equipment as described in Section 8.
Environmental Precautions: Prevent entry in storm sewers and waterways. Report spill as required by local and
national regulations.
Methods for Containment and Clean-Up: Absorb with an inert material. Collect into a suitable container for
disposal. Rinse area with water.
7. Handling and Storage
Precautions for Safe Handling: Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid prolonged contact with skin and clothing. Wash
hands after use.
Conditions for Safe Storage, Including Any Incompatibilities: Protect containers from physical damage. Store
in a cool, well-ventilated area away from strong oxidizers and other incompatible materials. Keep out of the reach
of children.
