Ch1. Before You Begin | 15 1.4.2 Remote Control Extender 1) Introduction This Remote Control Extender uses the smartest and easiest technology in extending the remote control operation. By installing the transmitter in the battery pocket only, your remote control now detects the key signals and transmits them far away. This extender kit (called Remote Control Extender) includes transmitter (battery type), receiver (UFO shape), two 2/3 rechargeable batteries and AAA sleeve.

The positions A, B, C are used to set the receiver to different remote controls. The factory setting is on position C (Most of remote control use position C) A: 56KHz (a few special remote) B: 38KHz (most of remote controls) C: sensitivity lower (external interference etc) 6) erference To determine whether your extender is causing the interference.
| AF-9400PV2R Users’ Manual 3. Install the full-charged battery in transmitter and insert old battery into the 2/3 AAA pocket for recharging. Lose the cover. While the battery is recharging, the LED CHG (BAT) will blink in the receiver. LED will blink when the recharging battery is inserted in the pocket. Full recharging time is approx. 12 hours and 6-8 hours when the battery is not fully flat. After replacement of rechargeable battery, you need to test the function.

Choose the most appropriate procedure depending on your environments. : If you encounter with any problems or have any questions during connecting the product, please contact your local product distributor. 2.1 Connecting a TV & VCR [ For TV1 ] 1. Connecting a TV with RF ( ) 1) Connect the TV antenna to the ANT IN of the product. 2) Connect the RF-IN of TV to the TV OUT of the product.

Connecting a TV 2 with a RF ( ) 1) To split antenna signal both TV1 and TV2, connect the Splitter to the TV OUT of the product. 2) Connect the RF-OUT of the Splitter to the RF-IN of TV2. And connect the other port of the Splitter to the RF IN of TV1. 3) Connect the Video and Audio of TV to the VIDEO and AUDIO L/R of the product. 4) To use the RF remote control for TV2 viewer, connect the RF RCU Receiver of the product to the RF remote control receiver.
Ch2. Connections | 23 2.2 Connecting a Dish AF-9400PV2R provides three antenna modes(Loop, twin, T1/T2). Refer to Chapter 3.4 System Setup for detailed information. Case1) One Antenna and a loop-through cable: If you connect one antenna cable to the LNB1 IN and connect the LNB1 Out to the LNB2 IN with a loop-through cable. When the channel of LNB1 is recorded, you can switch and view channels which have the same polarity or transponder with the recorded channel.
| AF-9400PV2R Users’ Manual 2.3 Connect the Optical S/PDIF If you watch a program encoded by a Dolby Digital, you can enjoy the higher quality sound of the Dolby Digital audio. Connect the optical S/PDIF to Dolby digital decoder or Digital television. 2.4 Connect the USB Connect the USB to your PC to copy MP3 file from PC.
Ch2. Connections | 25 2.5 Starting Up 1. Connect the power cord of the product to a power outlet and press the “Power” button at the rear panel to turn the product on. 2. The first time you power up the product, it will display the initial screen, then some parameters for system configuration should be set. Refer to the following chapter for detailed information about the basic settings.

Once the setup procedure is finished successfully, you can start watching TV or listening to radio. Turn on your TV and the product. Follow the instruction on the screen. Press the “MENU” button to save the previous input information and exit the basic settings.
Ch3. Basic Settings | 29 3.2 Time Setting You can set the current time. 1. Select Time Mode between GMT Offset and Local time using the “◀▶” button. 2. Select the appropriate GMT Offset value using the “◀▶” button or enter the local time using the “0~9” button. 3. Press the “Red” button to move to the next setting. Or press the “EXIT” button to return to the previous screen. 3.3 Output Setting You can set the audio and video output such as video, TV screen mode, SPDIF, TV type, RF Type and etc.
| AF-9400PV2R Users’ Manual 3.4 System Setup You can set the antenna’s properties such as system, tuner, longitude, latitude, and etc. z z z z z System: Fixed, DiSEqC, USALs Tuner: T1/T2, Loop, Twin Longitude, Latitude : You can enter the value using the “0~9” button. Move : Stop, East, West Limit Setting : Disable, Enable, Set East, Set West 1. Select the system value using the “◀▶” button. The default value is ‘Fixed’. 2. Select the tuner according to the connection type using the “◀▶” button.

This setting is provided to the only TV1 viewer. : If TV1 viewer selects Search to ‘Enable’ at the Setup-TV2 Control menu, TV2 viewer can also set the antenna setting. Refer to Chapter 5.3.8 TV2 Control for more information. 1. Select the Satellite name using the “◀▶” button. 2. Show the tuner value according to the tuner type at the previous step(1, 2/Loop/Twin).

Move cursor to the “OK” button and press the “OK” button to save the changes. Now you have completed all steps required for watching TV or listening to radio.

If you are TV2 viewer, the ‘2’ symbol will appear. z z z Press the “▲▼ ” button on the remote control to access the channels sequentially. Enter your desired channel number using the “0~9“ buttons directly. Press the “OK” button to display TV channel list, and then select the desired channel. 4.2 Adjusting Volume You can change the volume level of the current channel.

Press the “EXIT” or “INFO” button to hide the program information. Step 1: Basic Information The Basic Information is displayed as following on the screen. Step 2: EPG Information You can see EPG information about the current program. Press the “INFO” button to view EPG information during the Basic information is displayed.

If you are TV2 viewer, the ‘2’ symbol will appear. 4.5 Freezing Screen/Zooming Screen You can zoom in or out the current screen. 1. Press the “EXIT/ZOOM” button to select zooming mode. 2. Press the “Red” button to zoom in the screen or the “Green” button to zoom out the screen. Or press the “◄►▲▼” button to change the position of the frame. 3.
Ch4. Operations | 37 4.6 Changing Subtitle Language If the current program provides Subtitle information, you can select the subtitle language. 1. Press the “ ” button to display the subtitle language list. 2. Select the desired subtitle language using the “▲▼” button, and press the “OK” button. Press the “ ” button to display the audio language list. 2. Select the desired audio language using the “▲▼” button, and press the “OK” button. The audio language will be changed immediately. : You can select a default audio language by pressing the “MENU” button and selecting the Setup–Language Setting–Audio menu in order. Refer to Chapter 5.3.

Operations | 39 [ Advanced Functions ] 4.9 Managing Channel List 4.9.1 Displaying Channel List You can see various channel lists and change the channels from the channel list more conveniently. 1. Press the “OK” button while watching a program to display the selected channel list. 2. Move to the desired channel using the “▲▼” button and press the “OK” button to change the channel. Press the “FAV” button to switch among the channel modes such as ‘ALL, FAV1~4, etc’. Refer to Chapter 4.

Press the “OK” button while watching a program to display the selected channel list. 2. Press the “Green” button to sort the channel lists by alphabetic order. : Press the “Red” button to sort the channel groups by FTA/CASI or Tuner. 3. Press the “2(abc)~9(wxyz)” button to search the channel lists which have same initial.
Ch4. Operations | 41 4.9.3 Viewing Multi-Channels Window You can display multi-channels window and select a channel to watch. 1. Press the “OK” button while watching a program to display the selected channel list. 2. Press the “Yellow” button to display the number of the multi-channel among 2, 4, 9, 10, 13, or 16. Move to the desired number of window using the “▲▼” button and press the “OK” button to display multi-channels. 3. Move to the desired channel using the “◄►” button to watch the program.

Press the “SAT” button while the channel list is displayed to view the satellite group lists. 3. Select the desired channel group using the “OK” button to display its sub-groups. 4. Press the “EXIT” button to return to the previous screen.
Ch4. Operations | 43 4.9.5 Editing Channels You can edit(such as lock, delete, move, and rename) all channels or each channel. Press the “EXIT” or “MENU” button to save the changes and return to the previous menu. 1. Press the “MENU” button. 2. ①!Move to the Edit menu using the “◄►” button, and press the “OK” button. ②!Select the Edit Channel menu using the “OK” button.!③ Enter your password using the “ 0~9” buttons. The default password is 0000.

Press the “MENU” button. 2. ①!Move to the Edit menu using the “◄►” button, and press the “OK” button. ②!Select the Edit Favorite menu using the “OK” button.!③ Enter your password using the “ 0~9” buttons. The default password is 0000. If you select Menu Lock to ‘No’ at the Setup-Lock Control, you don’t have to enter the password. Refer to Chapter 5.3.

Whenever you press the “MENU” or “EXIT” button after editing favorite channel, the confirmation message will appear. Move cursor to the “OK” button and press the “OK” button to save the changes.

Whenever you press the “FAV” button, the channel mode changes sequentially such as ALL→FAV1→ FAV2→…→All. 2. Press the “OK” button to display All Channel or Favorite Channel lists according to the current channel mode.
Ch4. Operations | 47 4.12 Viewing Program Guide The Program Guide shows program information about each channel-by date and time. 1. Press the “EPG” button. z Red : Views daily schedule for the selected channel. z Green: Views the channel window. z Blue: Views the Media highway EPG. It is available only when the program provides the media highway EPG service. 2. Press the “Red” button to view daily schedule for the selected channel. z ▲▼ : Moves to other desired channel.
| AF-9400PV2R Users’ Manual 4.13 Viewing PIP The advanced PIP function allows you to watch two different screens at once, even if you don’t have a VCR connected to your TV. If you change the main screen channel into the one of different transponder, the PIP screen will be disappeared automatically. You can see the PIP screen at radio mode, recording mode and playback mode. 1. Press the “ ” button to show the PIP screen and the PIP channel information bar on the screen.

You can choose the only channel on the PIP channel lists. The number of PIP channels is variable according to the main screen channel state. 4. Press the “ ” button to change the position of the PIP screen.
| AF-9400PV2R Users’ Manual 4.14 Recording & Playback AF-9400PV2R provides three recording modes such as the instant recording, the normal recording, and the reservation recording. : z If TV1 viewer selects PVR to ‘Enable’ at the Setup-TV2 Control menu in TV1, TV2 viewer can record the program. Refer to Chapter 5.3.8 TV2 Control for more information. z The recorded files of TV1 and TV2 are summed up to 4 files simultaneously. 4.14.
Ch4. Operations | 51 4.14.2 Normal Recording The normal recording function saves the programs up to 4 programs at once. You can also watch program using functions such as rewind, fast forward, replay, pause, and recording. 1. Press the “MENU” button to set the recording options. ① Move to the HDD menu using the “◀▶” button, and press the “OK” button. ②!Move to the Recording sub-menu using the “▲▼” button, and press the “OK” button.! ③ Set the recording options, and press the “MENU” button.

You can watch program using functions such as rewind, fast forward, replay, pause, and recording. 1. Press the “MENU” button to set the reservation recording options. ① Move to the Setup menu using the “◀▶” button, and press the “OK” button. ②!Move to the Timer Setting sub-menu using the “▲▼” button, and press the “OK” button.

Whenever you press the “MENU” button after completing setup, the following message will appear. Move cursor to the “OK” button and press the “OK” button to save the changes. 4.14.4 Recorded File Playback You can play the recorded file by selecting a desired file. But you can’t play the recorded files on TV1 and TV2 simultaneously. 1.

You should stop the playback, and then change the channel. ④ If you choose the recording file, the channel is changed to the same channel. 3. Press the “ ” button to display the progress bar. And you can perform time shift operations like ), pause ( ), repeat( ), and replay( ).

Or press the “OK” button during the playback. 2. Press the “◀▶” button to show the MP3 file list. The MP3 list appears. Select the desired file to playback using the “▲▼” button, and then press the “OK”. 3. The MP3 progress bar appears. 4. Press the “MENU” button to exit the MP3 file playback.
Ch4. Operations | 57 4.14.6 Bookmark You can search positions very quickly and easily by bookmark during the recorded file playback. 1. Press the “ ” button at the desired position to set a bookmark during a recorded file playback. The bookmark OSD will appear on the upper right corner during on air mode. : Up to 64 bookmarks for one recorded file can be set up. 2. Press the “ ” button again to delete a bookmark. 3. Just only pressing the button, you can switch rooms between the TV1 and the TV2. You can watch the other room’s program and exchange the various configuration of TV such as Favorite channel, Lock, Language, and etc. 1. Press the “ ” button. The programs of the TV1 and TV2 viewer are exchanged. You can watch the other room’s program.
Ch4. Operations | 59 4.17 Viewing Teletext Teletext Service is text data service from Service Provider. It is available only when the program provides teletext data service. 1. Press the “ ” button. Teletext Service Data is displayed. Select the desired language using the “▲▼” button, and press the “OK” button. 2. Select the page using the “0~9” buttons(100~899). 3. Press the “EXIT” button to the previous screen. 4.18 Changing STB/TV This function is used for receiving a signal through the RF modulator.

Select ‘1’ to search the channels for ‘T1’, and then select ‘2’ to search the channels for ‘T2’. 3. Set the transponder value for the satellite using the “◀▶” button. 4. Set the LNB power and frequency type using the “◀▶” button. : When using Universal LNB, select Universal for LNB type (9750/10600 (MHz)).

The setting menus are different according to TV1 and TV2. z Edit Channel: Locks/deletes/moves/renames channel.
