INSTALLATION
1. Position the unit on a hard, flat, smooth level
surface.
2. Insert spacers of same desired thickness under
outer edges of scraper blade. Allow 1/8 in. (3 mm)
between scraper blade and hard smooth surfaces.
Allow 1-1/4 in. (30 mm) between scraper blade and
uneven or gravel surfaces. Ensure that scraper
blade is level with surface.
3. Remove the hardware attaching the steel runners
to the auger housing and remove the steel runners.
Save for future use if desired, or discard.
4. Mount composite runners (item 1) to auger housing
using 3/8-16 x 1-1/4" bolts (item 2), flat washers
(item 3) and 3/8" nuts (item 4). See Figure 2.
5. Ensure that runners are positioned flat to the
surface and torque nuts to 30 – 35 lbf-ft
(41 – 47 N•m). Do not overtighten.
CAUTION: The composite runners are wearable items,
especially if used on abrasive surfaces. Regularly check
for wear and proper height adjustment to prevent
damage to the scraper blade.
NOTE: Keep housing level by adjusting runners equally.
When one runner surface wears excessively runners can
be rotated 180
o
to utilize the opposite side and extend
service life.
WARNING: FAILURE TO FOLLOW
INSTRUCTIONS could result in personal injury
