Built-In Access
IntelliTools understands the access needs of people with
disabilities. For the user that has difficulty pressing two
keys simultaneously, IntelliKeys allows the user to press
the SHIFT key followed by a letter key to type a capital let-
ter-two keys in succession, not two keys at one time. For
the user who cannot use a mouse, IntelliKeys comes with a
standard arrows overlay, allowing the user to move the cur-
sor in any direction (IBM compatible mouse access through
AccessDOS and Access Utilities for Windows).
Smooth Operation
IntelliKeys retains the memory of custom overlays and spe-
cial settings for disability access. IntelliKeys uses its own
32K of battery-supported memory built in, so that custom
overlays and special settings remain, even when the com-
puter is off.
IntelliKeys USB plugs directly into the keyboard port of
a Macintosh,® PC-compatible, or Apple IIGS computer.
Slide in an overlay and you’re up and running. Each stan-
dard overlay has a bar code that is instantly recognized
by IntelliKeys. People who use switches can choose from
two built-in programmable switch jacks. IntelliKeys
works with all software-if the software runs with a regu-
lar keyboard or mouse, it will work with IntelliKeys from
IntelliTools and several other publishers.
INTELLIKEYS
Comes with eight standard overlays
Four elementary overlays are designed for people of
a young cognitive age. They contain the right keys to
work with common software programs. Keys are large
and well spaced for physical access. Arrangements
are alphabetical and logical for cognitive access.
Contrasting colors enhance visual access. QWERTY
overlays for Macintosh and PC-compatibles are
excellent for people with strong cognitive and visual
abilities, but more limited fine motor skills. Use the
QWERTY overlays with special settings for enhanced
physical access. The setup overlay allows you to make
many special accommodations for
physical access. For people who
inadvertently drag their fingers
across unwanted keys, the response
rate can be adjusted. For those
who cannot use a mouse, you can
turn IntelliKeys arrows into mouse
arrows with completely adjustable
speeds! For people who remain on a key too long, you
can adjust the repeat rate.
