Windows Compatibility:

Works with all applications:
WordQ provides word prediction and speech output wherever you type without additional
confusing windows. There is no need to identify the target application. Just click within
the application and WordQ works there immediately.
Simplicity and ease of use:
Features have been carefully selected and designed to provide you with the most benefits while ensuring simplicity
and reducing confusion.
State-of-the-art word prediction:
WordQ uses advanced prediction technology to suggest suitable words when you have trouble spelling or choosing
the right word. These can be spoken to help you choose a word.
Adaptive vocabulary:
You can choose a vocabulary level appropriate to yourself (starter, intermediate, advanced). As you write with
WordQ, it will learn your writing style and extend your vocabulary to include correctly spelled works derived from a
large background dictionary.
Topics:
WordQ makes use of an unlimited number of writing topics to increase accuracy of prediction within a topical area.
WordQ more sensibly uses one topic at a time. You can switch topics readily at any time, e.g., between sentences
or paragraphs.
Text-to-Speech:
WordQ’s speech features are available everywhere. Speech enhances writing and editing by helping you make
choices and to self-detect mistakes. WordQ allows you to read directly within an application, rather than copying
the text to another window or with a talking animated character which is distracting for users with learning/atten-
tion problems. WordQ incorporates a very simple interface for browsing and speaking documents.
Spelling
The WordQ Dictionary may be referenced for its 60,000 words and powerful knowledge base of how words are used. It also
checks for the proper spelling of words as you type. A number of initial user vocabularies are included based upon elemen-
tary, intermediate, and advanced writing styles. You can further customize the user vocabulary by adding novel words and
by importing text files.
Prompting
WordQ tightly integrates visual and auditory feedback such that a variety of prompts are presented to help the user make
choices and to self-identify mistakes. It is based on the assumption that users with learning difficulties have oral skills
that are generally better than reading skills. They can use their general language sense to monitor their writing, and catch
errors in grammar, spelling and punctuation that might otherwise go unrecognized.
Predicted words
The word list presents predicted word choices as a visual prompt of possible words that might be appropriate. Each word is
highlighted and spoken emphasizing the visual/auditory shape associated with a word. This is important when the user has
difficulty reading a word based on its component letters. (A mouse may also be used to highlight and speak a word.)
Typing echo
The next level of prompts involves echo feedback of typed letters, words, and sentences. Any combination of these may be
activated:
 Letter echo
 Word echo
 Sentence echo
