B.RADIOCONTROL(RC)
1. Allpilotsshallavoidflyingdirectlyoverunprotectedpeople,vessels,vehiclesor
structuresandshallavoidendangermentoflifeandpropertyofothers.
2. Asuccessfulradioequipmentground‐rangecheckinaccordancewithmanufacturer’s
recommendations
willbecompletedbeforethefirstflightofaneworrepairedmodel
aircraft.
3. Atallflyingsitesasafetyline(s)mustbeestablishedinfrontofwhichallflyingtakes
place(AMADocument#706‐RecommendedFieldLayout):
(a)Onlypersonnelassociatedwithflyingthemodelaircraftareallowed
ator
infrontofthesafetyline.
(b)Atairshowsordemonstrations,astraightsafetylinemustbeestablished.
(c)Anareaawayfromthesafetylinemustbemaintainedforspectators.
(d)Intentionalflyingbehindthesafetylineisprohibited.
4. RCmodelaircraftmustusetheradio
‐controlfrequenciescurrentlyallowedbythe
FederalCommunicationsCommission(FCC).Onlyindividualsproperlylicensedbythe
FCCareauthorizedtooperateequipmentonAmateurBandfrequencies.
5. RCmodelaircraftwillnotoperatewithinthree(3)milesofanypre‐existingflyingsite
withoutafrequency‐managementagreement(AMADocuments
#922‐TestingforRF
Interference;#923‐FrequencyManagementAgreement)
6. WiththeexceptionofeventsflownunderofficialAMACompetitionRegulations,
excludingtakeoffandlanding,nopoweredmodelmaybeflownoutdoorscloserthan
25feettoanyindividual,exceptforthepilotandthepilot'shelper(s)locatedatthe
flight
line.
7. Undernocircumstancesmayapilotorotherpersontouchamodelaircraftinflight
whileitisstillunderpower,excepttodivertitfromstrikinganindividual.Thisdoesnot
applytomodelaircraftflownindoors.
8. RCnightflyingrequiresalightingsystemprovidingthe
pilotwithaclearviewofthe
model’sattitudeandorientationatalltimes.
9. ThepilotofaRCmodelaircraftshall:
(a)Maintaincontrolduringtheentireflight,maintainingvisualcontactwithout
enhancementotherthanbycorrectivelensesprescribedforthepilot.
(b)Flyusingtheassistanceofa
cameraorFirst‐PersonView(FPV)onlyin
accordancewiththeproceduresoutlinedinAMADocument#550.
