1.Modelaircraftwillnotbeflown:
(a)Inacarelessorrecklessmanner.
(b) Atalocationwheremodelaircraftactivitiesareprohibited.
2.Modelaircraftpilotswill:
(a) Yieldtherightofwaytoallmancarryingair craft.
(b)Seeandavoidallaircraftandaspottermustbe
usedwhenappropriate.(AMA

(c)Notflyhigherthanapproximately400feetabovegroundlevelwithin
three(3)milesofanairport,withoutnotifyingtheairportoperator.
(d) Notinterferewithoperationsand trafficpatternsatanyairport,heliport
orseaplanebaseexcept
wherethereisamixeduseagreement.
(e)Notexceedatakeoffweight,includingfuel,of55poundsunlessincompliance
withtheAMALargeModelAircraftprogram.(AMADocument520‐A)
(f)EnsuretheaircraftisidentifiedwiththenameandaddressorAMAnumberofthe
owneronthe
insideoraffixedtotheoutsideofthemodelaircraft.(Thisdoesnot
applytomodelaircraftflownindoors).
(g)Notoperateaircraftwithmetal‐bladepropellersorwithgaseousboostsexcept
forhelicoptersoperatedundertheprovisionsofAMADocument#555.
(h)Notoperatemodelaircraftwhileunderthe
influenceofalcoholorwhileusingany
drugwhichcouldadverselyaffectthepilot’sabilitytosafelycontrolthemodel.
(i)Notoperatemodelaircraftcarryingpyrotechnicdeviceswhichexplodeorburn,or
anydevicewhichpropelsaprojectileordropsanyobjectthatcreatesahazardto
personsorproperty.


Exceptions:
 FreeFlightfusesordevicesthatburnproducingsmokeandaresecurely
attachedtothemodelaircraftduringflight.
 Rocketmotors(usingsolidpropellant)uptoaG‐seriessizemaybeused
providedtheyremainattachedtothemodelduringflight.Modelrockets
maybeflown
inaccordancewiththeNationalModelRocketrySafetyCode
butmaynotbelaunchedfrommodelaircraft.
 OfficiallydesignatedAMAAirShowTeams(AST)areauthorizedtousedevices
andpracticesasdefinedwithintheTeamAMAProgramDocument(AMA
Document#718).
(j)Notoperateaturbine‐poweredaircraft,
unlessincompliancewiththeAMAturbine
regulations.(AMADocument#510‐A).
