Attypicalcruisethrottle/powersettingstheP51DMustang350willflyfor
approximately5–7+minutespercharge(whenstartingtheflightwithafullycharged
battery).However,theactualflightdurationcanvaryconsiderablydependingonthe
capacityandconditionofthebatteryaswellastheactualthrottle/power
settingsused
throughouttheflight.Westronglyrecommendusingatimertokeeptrackofyour
timeintheairandtoensureyouhaveplentyofpowerlefttopracticelanding
approachesandto‘goaround’ifneeded.
IMPORTANTNOTE:Youcanlosemotorpowerabruptlyandunexpectedlyifthe
voltageofthebatterydropstoolow!
Loweringthelefthand/throttlestickandpowertolessthan1/2to1/3willallowthe
airplanetoenterashallowdescent.Thisishelpfuliftheairplanehasclimbedtoohigh
andwhenit’stimetosetupforlanding.
Toland,pointthenosedirectlyintoanywindatanaltitudeofapproximately100–150
feetabovethegroundandapproximately150300feetawayfromthedesiredlanding
area.Reducethethrottle/powerto1/3asyoudescendslowlytoapproximately2030
feet,thenlowerthethrottle/powerto1/4
orless.Atapproximately24feetabovethe
groundlowerthethrottle/turnoffthepowercompletelywhileallowingtheairplaneto
descendnaturally.Justbeforetheairplanecontactsthegroundaddasmallamountof
‘up’elevatortobringthenoseupand‘flare’forasmoothlanding.
Lateronyoucanpracticelandingwithasmallamountofthrottle/powertohelp
smoothouttheapproachandtouchdown.However,youmustbesuretolowerthe
throttle/turnoffthepowercompletelyifthepropcomesintocontactwiththeground.

MAJORORMINOR,YOUMUSTLOWERTHELEFTHAND/THROTTLESTICKTOTHE

Ifyoudonotlowerthelefthand/throttlesticktothelowestpossiblepositioninthe
eventofacrash/propellerstrikeitcanresultindamagetotheESCwhichmay
requireittobereplaced!
