Afterensuringtheservoarmisinthepositionthatoffersthebestalignmentoverall
checktoseeiftheaileronsareproperly‘centered’byviewingthetrailingedgesofthe
wingandaileronsfrombehind.Thetrailingedgesoftheaileronsshouldbe‘inline’with
thetrailingedgesof
thewingwhenaileronsareproperly‘centered’.However,ifthe
aileronsare‘offcenter’youcanadjustthelength/positionofthepushrods/clevisesas
needed.
Ifeitheraileronis‘above’or‘below’centercarefullyremovethecorrespondingclevis
fromthecontrolhorn/bracket.Itmaybehelpfultoinsertaflatbladescrewdriver(not
included)intotheclevisthentocarefully‘twist’ituntilitdisengagesthepinfromthe
holeintheclevis.Also,itis
notnecessarytosnap’theclevisbacktogetheruntilthe
centeringadjustmentsarecomplete.
Iftheaileronis‘below’centerscrewtheclevis‘in’(clockwise)onehalftoonefullturn
theninsertthepinbackintothecontrolhorn/bracket.Or,iftheaileronis‘above’center
screwtheclevis‘out’(counterclockwise)onehalftoonefullturntheninsertthepin
backinto
thecontrolhorn/bracket.Viewthetrailingedgesoftheaileronsandwing
fromdirectlybehindagainandcontinueadjustingthelength/positionofthe
pushrod/clevisuntilbothaileronsareproperlycentered.
NOTE:Insomecasesitmaynotbepossibletoexactlycentertheinboardandoutboard
portionsofanaileronrelativetothetrailingedgesofthewing.Ifyoufindthistobethe
casesimplyadjustthelength/positionofthepushrod/clevisto‘splitthedifference’
betweentheinboardand
outboardportionsrelativetothetrailingedgesofthewing.
NOTE:Youshouldalwaysrotatetheclevisuntilthepinisperpendicularwiththecontrol
horntoensurethepinisnotunderanyexcessiveload/pressurewheninsertedinthe
holeandduringoperation.Insomecasesitmaynotbepossibleto‘exactly’centerthe
surfacemechanicallywhileproperlyaligning
thepin.Inthesecasesbesurethepinis
