helpfultomakeafewshort‘hops’toanaltitudeofjustafew
inchesuntilyou’refamiliarandmorecomfortablewiththecontrolinputsrequiredto
maintainasteadyhoverandaltitude.However,keepinmindthatwhenonlyafew
inchesoffthegroundyouwillbein‘ground
effect’whichwillcausethehelicopterto
movearoundmorethanwhenyouareoutoftheeffectatapproximately12‐16inches
high(andhigher).
You’llfindthatitsometimestakesminorthrottleadjustmentstomaintainaltitudein
hover.Remembertokeeptheseadjustmentsasminimalaspossible
aslarge
adjustmentscouldresultinalossofcontroland/orapossiblecrash.
Whileattemptingtoestablishalow‐levelhoveroutofgroundeffect(approximately
12‐16incheshighorhigher)youcanchecktoseeifanyruddertrimadjustmentsare
requiredtohelpkeepthe
helicopterfromconstantlyrotatinginonedirectionorthe
other.Ifyoufindthehelicopterconstantlyrotatesinonedirectionwithoutany
rudder/directionalcontrolinputitmaybebesttolandthemodelbeforemakingany
adjustmentstotheruddertrimsettingsusingthetrimbuttonsonthetransmitter(you
canfindmoreinformationregardingthelocationandfunctionofthetrimbuttonsin
the‘FlightControlsandTrimming’sectionofthismanual).
It’simportanttocontinuemakingruddertrimadjustmentsasneededuntilthe
helicoptercanhoveratanaltitudeofapproximately12‐16inches(orhigher)withlittle
tonorotatingleftorrightwithoutrudder/directionalcontrolinput.
Whenthehelicopterisproperlytrimmed,maintainastablehoverandpracticeusing
therudderandelevatorcontrolstogetafeelforhowthehelicopterrespondsto
variouscontrolinputs.Remembertokeepthecontrolinputsasminimal
aspossibleto
preventover‐controllingthehelicopter.
Continuetopracticeuntilyou’recomfortablehoveringthehelicopteratapproximately
12‐16incheshigh.Thenyoucantransitiontohoveringthehelicopterathigher
altitudesofapproximatelythreetofourfeet.
Ifatanytimeduringflightyoufeel
likethehelicopterisdriftingoutof/beyondyour
control,simplyreleaseallofthecontrolsexceptforthrottle.Thethrottlewillbe
neededtomaintainaltitude,butduetotheinherentstabilityofthecoaxial,counter‐
