Strand Mount Deployment Diagram and Material List
The diagram bellows depicts a typical network side strand mount deployment using CWDM
(Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing) Fast Ethernet media converter to connect to the fiber network.
The media converter provides power to the MetroE node.
The required components are:
• Strand Mount, PoE Powered Device ARCXtend MetroE WPE ODU--- Arcwave Model FX5010-
ODU-SM-PD
• CWDM Fast Ethernet Media Converter
 PCT Model THC or THP2312BTFC-Czz, where zz is the CWDM channel. The THC and
THP-2312BTFx are designed to operate in conjunction with the CCT-2312-BTFx Series
chassis line card.
 Aurora PG1210A-00. The CWDM SFP plug-in modules are ordered separately.
• MetroE ODU to media converter interconnect cable, Arcwave FX5010-RJ45-1 one meter UV
protected outdoor CAT5e cable with weather proof RJ-45 connectors
• CWDM Optical Couplers/Filters for connecting the media converter to the fiber plant,
Aurora OP941S-xxxx-R3-00 where xxx is the CWDM wavelength
• Fiber Splice Enclosure, if one does not exist. Available from various suppliers
