units are restarted. Otherwise click on No and then on Cancel to return to the previous settings.
Wireless Settings
To set the Extended Service Set Identifier (ESSID), Radio mode, and Radio Channel setting click on
the Wireless Tab.
• The default ESSID is METROE_MESH. You should change it to a more descriptive name.
• The Radio Mode is set to 5.725 to 5.850 GHz OFDM. This is the only radio mode FCC
approved for operation in the U.S..
• Radio Channel Setting should be set to the best available channel which is generally
defined as the channel with the least amount of interference as determined during the site
survey.
• Current Operating Channel displays the channel number.
• Transmit Data Rate should be set to the lowest data rate that meets the service level
agreement (SLA) requriements. In most deployments this will be 54 mbps. Note that the
data rates are raw data rates and actual data rates.
After entering the new values, click on Save to apply.
Security Settings
Set radio security to WEP, AES or no encryption. Note that the use of WEP or AES does not slow
throughput. Encryption is disabled by default.
• If you select 104/128-bit WEP, enter a 26 hexadecimal character key.
• If you select 40/64-bit WPE, enter a 10 hexadecimal character key.
• If you select 256-bit WAP, enter a 64 hexadecimal character key.
• If you select 128-bit WAP, enter a 32hexadecimal character key.
