Using ARCView
The initial mesh setup should occur prior to installation. To complete initial setup connect one
MetroE node to a wired connection with access to ARCView and place the other node within
wireless range as show in the figure below.
Verify that the status LED on each MetroE node glows Amber indicating it’s powered and then
green indicating it has achieved a valid link status.
Launch ARCView Management Software
You are now ready to check your mesh configuration using the ARCView mesh management
software. The steps below describe how to launch the ARCView software under Windows. Your
operating system may have a different procedure for launching applications. If necessary, refer to
your operating system’s documentation for instructions on how to launch applications.
1. Install the ARCView mesh management software as described in the ARCView User Guide.
2. Configure your TCP/IP settings to:
IP address: 192.168.224.10
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway is not used
3. From the Windows Desktop, click on the Start button.
4. Click on All Programs and select ARCView. The Login screen will appear.
5. Enter the following information to log into the mesh network:
Mesh IP address: 192.168.224.150
Username: admin
