Replacement Lockset for elephantrunk Parcel Drop

Remove the existing lock. If you have access to the
rear of the lock, simply remove the cam with a
screwdriver and the large nut with a wrench or pliers.
Slide the lock off the door and slide the upper and
lower bars out of their alignment holes.
If you don't have access to the rear of the lock (e.g.,
lost keys), drill out the center of the lock with a 1/8"
diameter drill bit until the internal mechanism is
broken. After the internal mechanism is drilled out,
insert a screwdriver into the key way and force the
lock open. Remove the lock as described above.

Insert the new lock without the cam and bars
into the door hole and secure using the large
nut.

Attach the cam and bars
onto the lock, aligning the
upper and lower bars into
their alignment holes,
making sure the cam is
pointing toward the parcel
drop body (away from the
door hinge).

Secure the cam/bar assembly to the lock using
the screw and washer. Test the lock to see if
the cam properly engages the mailbox body. If
it doesn’t engage as desired, fine tune the cam
by bending it inward or outward as necessary.
