Safety precautions
u The Gigaset USB Adapter can affect medical equipment. Therefore, you should pay
attention to the technical conditions of the corresponding environment.
u Make sure you include the operating instructions and the CD-ROM when you pass
on your Gigaset USB Adapter 54 to somebody else.
u Dispose of the Gigaset USB Adapter 54 and any CD-ROMs you no longer need in an
environmentally-friendly manner.
u Do not extend the USB cable. This may result in higher EMC-radiation.
u Under no circumstances try to use a damaged device. If in doubt, please contact our
service department, see Chapter "Service (Customer Care)" on page 53.
Notes on safe operation
When you have installed and configured the Gigaset USB Adapter 54 on your PC, you
should make security settings on the wireless network:
u Change the SSID for all of the wireless devices within your network, see "SSID
(Service Set Identifier)" on page 23.
u Encrypt the communication over your wireless network, see "Configuration –
Security" on page 27.
