Wireless Joey and Wireless Joey
Access Point
Enjoy your programming cable free with the Wireless Joey™ receiver
providing all your favorite programming in places that usually do not
have cabling, such as on the patio or in the garage or the basement.
Watch and record high-denition (HD) and standard-denition (SD)
programming, while having the next-generation of TV content delivered
using WiFi signals from your Hopper® or a Hopper® with Sling receiver
and taking advantage of PrimeTime AnyTime™, AutoHop, apps, and
Remote Locate. Simply connect the Wireless Joey Access Point™
to your Hopper receiver, using the provided Ethernet cable. Like a
Joey® receiver, the Wireless Joey receiver can display live or recorded
content from the DVR or IP-delivered content.
The remote uses radio frequency (RF) signals to control the Wireless
Joey receiver and IR signals to control any other equipment you have
programmed. RF signals travel relatively long distances and can go
through walls and other solid objects. IR signals, used in TV, DVD, and
AUX device modes, travel up to 40 feet in a straight line-of-sight and
cannot go through walls or other solid objects. Point the remote directly
at the equipment you want to control without any objects blocking the
signal path.
Note: The term “Hopper” in this document represents both the original
Hopper® receiver and the Hopper® with Sling receiver.
