Troubleshooting, continued
The Wireless Joey receiver and Wireless Joey Access Point
connect, but the signal strength is poor (red) and moving them
closer together is not possible.
What to do: If you are able to get the two devices to connect but the
signal strength is poor as indicated from the Wireless Joey Access
Point tile (from the Wireless Joey receiver’s remote, press MENU,
select the Settings tile, select the Network Setup tile, select the
Wireless Joey Access Point tile), you may want to consider having
a Hopper Internet Connector installed. The Hopper Internet Connector
connects to the Hopper through MoCA and then uses the Ethernet cable
to connect to the Wireless Joey Access Point. The Hopper Internet
Connector provides an opportunity to position the Wireless Joey Access
Point closer to the Wireless Joey receiver while remaining connected to
the Hopper receiver. Contact DISH at mydish.com/chat or at 1-800-333-
DISH (3474) if interested in this option.
Signal Strength Indicators:
Green indicates good signal strength
Yellow indicates marginal signal strength
Red indicates poor signal strength
Gray indicates the two devices have been disconnected
I am unable to link the Wireless Joey receiver to the Hopper
receiver.
What to do: Press MENU on the remote to display the Main Menu
screen. Select the Network Setup tile, select the Whole Home tile,
highlight the Hopper receiver, and press SELECT on the remote. The
Hopper receiver should link to the Wireless Joey receiver. If it does not,
then power cycle the Hopper and/or Wireless Joey receivers (unplug
the Hopper and the Wireless Joey(s), wait 10 seconds, power on the
devices). Return to the Whole-Home Setup screen and verify that they
are linked.
