Connecting the Devices
The Wireless Joey receiver uses WiFi to connect to a Wireless Joey
Access Point, which uses Ethernet to connect to your Hopper receiver,
making it possible to share live and recorded content.
Taking the Wireless Joey receiver out of
its box, nd the receiver CAID number
(RXX XXXX XXXX-XX) and smart card
number (SXX XXXX XXXX-XX) on the
plastic bag’s label. Write these numbers
on the back page of this document. Call
DISH Customer Care at
1-800-333-DISH (3474) to authorize your
Wireless Joey receiver; you need these
numbers for authorization.
Note: If installing more than one Wireless
Joey receiver, authorize all receivers at
the same time; however, install them one
at a time.
Decide where to place your Wireless Joey
Access Point in your house. The Wireless
Joey Access Point needs to connect to
your Hopper receiver and needs to be
a minimum of 6 feet away from other
Wireless Joey Access Points, Wireless
Joeys, wireless router(s), etc.
Verify that your Hopper receiver is
receiving video.
From the back panel of the Wireless Joey
Access Point, verify that the switch is set
to Access Point.
