TO UNLOAD THE PISTOL
Follow this procedure exactly to unload the pistol.
FINAL ROUND FIRED
1. If the last shot in the magazine has been fired, the slide should ba locked in the open
position.
2. With the pistol pointed in a sa fa direction, placa the thumb safety in tha -SAFE-
position, Figure 2.
3. Press tha magazina latch to tha right to relaase magazine and remove magazine from
~.
pistol.
4. Visually axsmine chambar and magazine to ensure they are empty..
5. Pull the slide to its rearmost position which will disangage the slide stop. Slowly raturn
slida to its forward position.
6. With the pistol pointed in a safe direction, hold hammer with thumb and pull triggar
while easing hammer down unt~ it contacts the safety.
ALL ROUNDS HAVE NOT BEEN FIRED
1. With the pistol pointed in a safe direction, place the thumb safety in the -SAFE-
position, Figure 2.
2. Press the magazine latch to the right to release magazine and remove magazine from
pistol.
3. With the pistol pointed in a safe direction, forcibly pull the slide to its rearmost position
which will extract and eject the chambered round from the pistol. DRAWING THE SLIDE
BACK SLOWLY MA Y RESULT IN THE ROUND LODGING IN THE MAGAZINE WELL OF THE
GRIP FRAME.
4. Visually inspect the chamber and, when you are sure the pistol is empty, lower the sfide
to its forward position.
5. With the pistol pointed in a safe direction, hold hammer with thumb and pull trigger
while easing hammer down until it contacts the safaty.
