While ensuring the pistol is pointing in a safe direction, place the thumb safety in the "SAFE" position. (When positioned in the "SAFE" position, the RED DOT will NOT be visible, Figure 2.) 2.
1. Keep your finger off the trigger and point the pistol in a safe direction. Hold the pistol in your shooting hand. 2. Draw the slide back completely to its rearmost position, then allow the slide to snap forward into the "baltery" (ready to fire) position. These actions move a round of ., ammunition from the magazine to the chamber and cock the pistol's hammer. (Operating the slide in other than a positive manner may cause a misfeed and/or jam in the pistol.) 3.
TO UNLOAD THE PISTOL Follow this procedure exactly to unload the pistol. FINAL ROUND FIRED 1. If the last shot in the magazine has been fired, the slide should ba locked in the open position. 2.
