The Need
• Condensation will occur if the surface temperature is at
or lower than the dew-point. It can also occur if the RH%
is above 50%. This condensation can lead to the
corrosion of steel and iron components in the building
and cause electrical systems to short circuit.
• Microbiological growth can occur when space humidity
levels exceed 60% RH.
• ASHRAE and the EPA recommend 30%-60%
for comfort in occupied spaces
