Waking the Secure Key About the Aegis Secure Key 3NX When the Secure Key is not in use, it will enter a sleep state. While in this state, the device is locked and cannot be accessed. To wake the key so it can accept keypad inputs, press the glow solidly (standby state.) button once. Aegis Secure Key Brute-Force Protection Performing a Complete Reset What is Brute-Force Attack? There may be circumstances (forgotten PIN, redeployment, return to factory default settings) when you need to completely reset the key. The complete reset feature will perform a cryptoerase on the key, generate a new encryption key, delete all users and formatting, and will return all of the settings to factory default.
Formatting the Aegis Secure Key After a Complete Reset Hibernating, Suspending, or Logging Off from the Operating System A complete reset of the Aegis Secure Key will erase all information and partition settings. After a complete reset, you will need to reformat the Aegis Secure Key. Diagnostic Mode Removable Media / Fixed Disk Toggling The keypad has a manual diagnostic mode built-in to verify proper keypad function and troubleshooting key issues.
