How to Use
This product is for household use only.
GETTING STARTED

• Selectadry,levellocationwhereyourgrillwillbeused,leavingenoughspace
between the back of grill and wall to allow heat to ow without damage to 
cabinets and walls.
DRIP TRAY
Place drip tray under front sloped section of grill. 
ATTACHING THE PLATES
Important: This appliance must always be used with two plates securely attached.
Caution: Attach grill plates when the appliance is cool.
1.  Securely attach top grill plate using the release 
handles on each side. To secure the plate, press in on 
both release handles, set the plate on the grill, then 
release the handles (B).
2.  Securely attach bottom grill plate or griddle/bake 
plate using the release handles as described in Step 1. 
Hint:  When the plates are properly attached, there will be no space between the 
top and bottom release handles when the grill is closed.
USING THE ADJUSTABLE ANGLE STAND
The adjustable angle stand is found at the back of the appliance. It can be used 
in 2 positions:
• Theshortstandthatallowstheapplianceto
cook in a at, level position (C). This position 
is used for griddle/bake plate, as well as for 
pressing Panini and heating sandwiches or 
wraps.
Note: It is not necessary to use the drip tray 
when the grill is used in this position.
• Thelongstandtiltsthegrillattheoptimal
angle to allow fat and grease to drain away 
from the food being cooked into the drip tray 
below the grill (D). 
Important: Make sure the drip tray is placed 
correctly at the front of the grill when using 
this position. 
1. To change the position of the adjustable angle stand, make sure the grill is 
unplugged and cool. 
2. Lift the back of the appliance up at around a 45 degree angle and swing the 
stand out. 
3. Make sure the stand is in the desired position (short or long stand); then lower the 
back of the grill until it rests on the countertop.
PREHEATING THE GRILL
1. Close cover on grill.
2. Unwind cord and plug into an outlet. The POWER indicator light turns on.
3. Press the On/O (I/O) switch on the back right side of the grill to the ON (I) 
position. 
4. Set the temperature (TEMP) control knob on the top of the grill to the desired 
setting (see COOKING GUIDE on handle or GRILLING CHART on pages 9 – 11 for 
suggested temperatures). 
5. Allow the grill to preheat (approximately 5 minutes) before grilling. When the 
selected temperature is reached, the READY indicator light turn on.
Note: The READY indicator light will turn on and o during cooking to indicate your 
desired temperature is being maintained.
GRILLING
1. Using a pot holder, carefully open the preheated grill.
Note: The George Tough™ nonstick coating on the plates is designed to work 
without oil, butter or cooking spray. If desired, you may use oil or butter. However, 
aerosol cooking spray should never be used; chemicals that allow spray to come out 
of can build up on the surface of the plates and reduce their eciency.
2. Carefully place foods to be cooked on bottom plate. This grill accommodates up 
to 4 servings.
Note: Do not overload grill.
3. Close the cover.
4. Turn the TIMER control knob past 10, then back or forward to your desired time.
Important: When using the TIMER control knob, you must always turn the knob 
past 10, then back or forward to your desired setting.
Note: Use suggested cooking times found in the GRILLING CHART on pages 9 – 11; 
for quick reference, use the COOKING GUIDE printed on the handle of the grill.
Important: Do not leave the appliance unattended during use.
5. Light pressure can be used on the handle to press and heat food to your liking.
Important: Do not use heavy pressure on the cover of the grill at any time.
