Troubleshooting Symptom Charts/Operation - 12
Rejects cartridge 1 Remove tape on ink cartridge. Retest.
2 Remove and clean the print cartridge contacts. Try using the
print cartridge in another printer.
3 Perform “Print Head Cleaning” in Additional Procedures.
4 Replace ink cartridge.
5 Remove/reinstall flexible ribbon carriage cable.
6 Replace mechanical assembly.
7 Reseat logic board connectors. Replace logic board.
Leaky cartridge 1 Clean ink damaged parts. Replace ink damaged parts.

Apple does not support damage from the use of refilled ink
cartridges.
2 Replace ink cartridge.
3 Replace mechanical assembly.
4 Inspect and clean purge unit. Replace purge unit.
5 Reseat logic board connectors. Replace logic board.
6 Verify purge unit motor cable is connected. If connected,
replace purge unit motor.
