7 Replace mechanical assembly.
8 Replace the power supply board and retest.
Short pen life 1 Check that tape is not covering the print cartridge.
2 Replace ink cartridge.
3 Inspect and clean purge unit area. Retest.
4 Replace purge unit.
Erratic or slow
movement
1 Visually inspect the mechanism for obstructions.
2 Remove and clean the print cartridge contacts. Try using the
print cartridge in another printer. If problem continues
with the other printer, replace the print cartridge.
3 Perform “Fiber Track Cleaning” in Additional Procedures.
4 Replace the power supply board. Retest.
5 Inspect the carriage belt for frays, cuts, or other damage.
6 Check mechanical assembly for damage and proper operation.
7 Replace the mechanical assembly.
8 Reseat logic board connectors and retest.
