Splash PCI Series v5.0 Server Kit Models
The Splash PCI 640 Kit provides:
64 MB of frame buffer memory to support the on-board PostScript Level 2
RIP. Upgradable to 128 MB.
400 x 400 dpi full contone printing for page sizes up to A4; visually lossless
400 x 400 dpi for page sizes up to A3.
The Splash PCI 1280 Kit provides:
128 MB of frame buffer memory to support the on-board PostScript
Level 2 RIP.
400 x 400 dpi full contone printing for all page sizes (with Document
Mode off).
System Requirements
The Splash Server PCI Kit can be installed in an Apple Power Macintosh 7300/180,
Power Macintosh 7600/120, or Power Macintosh 7600/132. Additional models may
also be compatible. Refer to the
Splash PCI Series Product Update Notice
for the
latest system compatibility information.
The Splash System application requires:
System 7.5.3 (or later) on the Splash Server computer
Open Transport 1.1.1 (or later) on the Splash Server computer
System 7.1 (or later) on remote (Node) Macintosh computers
A minimum of 24 MB of RAM
A minimum of 50 MB of free hard disk space (for Server or local Macintosh)
A color display that supports a minimum resolution of 832 x 624 pixels
CD-ROM disk drive (for software installation)
In addition to these requirements, you must provide networking hardware and
software for all client workstations that will print to the Splash Server. Refer to
the instructions provided with your network products for instructions on how to
connect the Splash Server and client workstations to the network.
Additional internal memory may be required to run other applications on the Splash
Server (the Macintosh directly connected to the printer/copier), or to run multiple
Splash applications at the same time (see page 42).
