Note: The illustrations in this procedure are based on the Power Mac G5 (Late 2005 Quad)
computer. Although the Power Mac G5 (Late 2005 Dual) support bar cable diers from the Quad
cable (it has two connectors rather than three), the take-apart procedure for all congurations is
primarily the same.
Tools
The only tool required for this procedure is a Phillips #1 screwdriver.
Preliminary Steps
Before you begin, open the computer, lay it on its side with the access side facing up, and remove
the following:
Front inlet fan assembly
Heatsink cover
Processor inlet frame (Dual 2.0/2.3 GHz) or Processor inlet frame (Quad)
Processor (Dual 2.0/2.3 GHz) or Processor (Quad)
